Your Drying Time
To protect your carpet and prevent the growth of mold it is important
to remove moisture from your carpet as quickly as possible. Our
cleaning procedures are those recommended by carpet manufacturers
and are designed to leave the least amount of moisture possible.
There are though, additional steps you can take to reduce drying
time after having your carpets cleaned.
- The temperature
of your home needs to be between 70 & 75 degrees no more,
any more may TRAP moisture at the ceiling level.
- Open a
window on each side of the house (no more than an inch usually
best) to allow a place for moisture to escape the home.
- Use all
fans (including ceiling fans) to direct air movement. Put one
fan toward the open window being the exit window & the other
fan place on low speed faced inward as the source window to
draw air from the outside. This will allow for air displacement,
a large factor in the drying process.
- Turn on
all exhaust fans available in the home, for example the bathroom
or over the stove. This allows those fans to assist in moving
the air of your home at an even rate.
- This may
sound crazy but it is a tremendous help. Turn on any air conditioners
to a setting of low cool. What this will accomplish is that
it will help to take moisture out of the air much the same as
dehumidifier would do.
- As you
may have guessed if you have a dehumidifier, use it now to remove
as much moisture as you can in addition to the things mentioned
above.
SPECIAL NOTE
